Baxi boilers

The Baxi company has been going since the 1800s, bringing out its first gas fired boilers in the 1960s and building itself up to become one of the biggest boiler manufacturers in Europe.

As well as a range of energy efficient boilers, it also offers an array of renewable energy heating systems.

History

The Baxi company has been going since 1866, though it launched its first product in the 1930s, going on to focus on domestic heating by the 1950s.

The 1960s saw Baxi launch its first gas central heating boilers, and one of its most popular products, the Bermuda gas fired back boiler - of which more efficient versions are still popular today.

In the 1980s, Baxi’s owner and great-grandson of its founder sold the company to its employees, creating the largest employee partnership of its kind in the country.

Over the past few decades, Baxi has acquired a number of European companies and gone on to become one of the biggest boiler manufacturers on the continent, with a range of “award winning boilers and the largest range of renewables in the market”.

Awards

Baxi was awarded a Best Buy for its Duo-tec Combi 28 HE boiler by consumer watchdog Which? last year, on the grounds of efficiency and ease of use. The judges said: “It’s one of the few boilers we’ve tested which reaches the very highest efficiency standards. As well as offering excellent efficiency, this boiler is reassuringly easy to use.”

Specialities

Baxi’s product range covers everything from energy efficient central heating boilers to renewable sources and hot water heating and storage units.

It offers three combi boilers, including its award winning Duo-tec Combi 28 HE, as well as a selection of heat-only, system and back boilers. This includes the popular Bermuda range which “changed the face of domestic heating by saving valuable kitchen space”, and sits behind the fire or within the chimney breast in your home.

Its range of renewables includes its Solarflo solar panels, its Geoflow products that use ground heat to heat your water, Biomass boilers and even an internal combustion engine to simultaneously heat your home and produce electricity.

It also offers information in grants to help with the cost of your renewable energy.
