npower’s (www.npower.com) boiler cover plans start from just £8.09 for a gas boiler, and there are also plans available for electrical heating systems, annual boiler safety checks and even an option for landlords.

Gas Boiler Breakdown Cover, which costs £8.09 a month including a 10% online discount, and covers you boiler, controls and hot water, and up to £200 towards replacing your boiler if it is irreparable. However, you are limited to only two callouts a year.

Gas Central Heating Breakdown Cover which, including the 10% online discount, costs £10.79 a month covers your boiler, radiators, controls and hot water, and isn’t limited to a set number of callouts.

If you just want to pay for your boiler’s annual safety inspection in easy, monthly instalments but don’t want, or don’t need emergency cover, then the Annual Service Cover, for only £6.99 a month is the plan for you.

If your home is heated via an electrical heating system, you can get it covered against emergencies for just £4.03 a month - which includes a 12% discount. This covers your repair and a contribution to replacing your storage or panel heaters.

However, different plans have different policies on the number of callouts you can make a year - from two to unlimited - and also on the financial contribution made to replace your boiler or storage/panel heaters if they are no longer economical.

Is npower’s boiler insurance right for me?

npower offers, good, basic plans to meet your essential heating insurance needs - and they don’t break the bank either.
