Direct Line Home Response 24

Direct Line Home Response 24

Home Response 24 from Direct Line (www.directline.co.uk) takes a different approach to boiler cover. Cover can cost from as little as £80 a year to more than £100 for a terraced house in London. However, you’ll also be covered for other home emergencies such as damage to your drainage system or the security of your doors, windows and locks.

Direct Line’s plan

Working like standard home insurance, you need to provide Direct Line (www.directline.com) with information about your home and your heating system and you will then be given a quote.

Depending on where you live, the type of property you own and what type of heating system you have, you could end up paying as little as £7 a month - and be covered for much more than standard boiler insurance plans.

Standard Home Response 24 covers callout fees and the first hour’s labour for any work covered by the plan. The more comprehensive Total Response covers callout fees, parts and labour, up to a total of £1,000.

However, Direct Line doesn’t offer a care plan, so only emergencies will be covered. Your annual boiler safety check will not be included.

What does Home Response 24 cover?

I have had a terrible service from Direct Line. I've waited over 10 days for my boiler to be fixed and am still waiting having been visited by Storm Heating twice as the repair company of Direct Line choice for this job. Still nothing fixed even though it is a £20 part that can be got from the manufacturer next day delivery and takes 2 mins to install. In the meantime it is freezing and my family - including a newborn baby are left living in one room with an electric heater. I am so angry right now and no one seems willing to hurry up. - Mar 8 2010 10:30PM
Your advert in misleading. I have just had someone round when my boiler did not work. The man looked at it, said something about the circuits without even being sure it was this. he went away. I then got a call from the a lady quoting me £180 to cover for the repair of the boiler. I said I thought I was insured for this and she said the policy was for just 1 hour callout. This repair man stayed for 10 minutes . Arrived just before 2 and left just after 2. Overall, very disappointed. I feel as thoug I was conned. If I had known what I know now I would never ever had signed up for this Home reponse - Feb 3 2010 4:37PM
