Home Response 24 from Direct Line (www.directline.co.uk) takes a different approach to boiler cover. Cover can cost from as little as £80 a year to more than £100 for a terraced house in London. However, you’ll also be covered for other home emergencies such as damage to your drainage system or the security of your doors, windows and locks.
Working like standard home insurance, you need to provide Direct Line (www.directline.com) with information about your home and your heating system and you will then be given a quote.
Depending on where you live, the type of property you own and what type of heating system you have, you could end up paying as little as £7 a month - and be covered for much more than standard boiler insurance plans.
Standard Home Response 24 covers callout fees and the first hour’s labour for any work covered by the plan. The more comprehensive Total Response covers callout fees, parts and labour, up to a total of £1,000.
However, Direct Line doesn’t offer a care plan, so only emergencies will be covered. Your annual boiler safety check will not be included.
