HomeCare is boiler insurance from the UK’s biggest energy provider, British Gas (www.britishgas.co.uk). It offers four different levels of plan, with eight payment options.

With 5,000 Corgi registered engineers - the largest collection of Corgi technicians in Europe - British Gas HomeCare manages 8 out of 10 same-day repairs for customers without heating or hot water.

HomeCare plans

British Gas (www.britishgas.co.uk) offers HomeCare levels 100, 200, 300 and 400, costing from £13 a month for HomeCare 100 which covers just your boiler, to HomeCare 400 from £27 a month, which covers your boiler, radiators, hot water and pipework, plumbing and drains and even home electrics.

Level 200 costs from £18 a month and covers boiler, radiators, hot water and pipework while Level 300 costs from £22.50 a month and offers the same cover as Level 200 plus plumbing and drains.

Flexi plans are also available, which reduce your monthly payments in return for a £50 callout fee per repair, bringing prices down to only £10 a month.

What does HomeCare cover?

All HomeCare products include:

• Unlimited callouts, so you’re not limited to how many times you need to call them
• Annual service - you need to have you boiler checked annually anyway and having it included in your insurance will save you between £60 and £90 a year according to Corgi engineers
• Over 5,500 highly qualified and Corgi registered engineers to deal with any emergency you might have
• 24/7 manned customer helpline - so you don’t have to wait around until the call centre opens to get help

The standard HomeCare packages all include parts and labour, while the Flexi packages have a set fee of £50 per callout - but you’ll never pay more for parts or labour.
